January 2007 Tuesdays 10:30am, Infant/Toddler Music Class. This class is an energetic, interactive class for parent and child. Each session begins with a sing-along greeting to each child, includes a "singing story", fingerplays, lap songs, movement and dancing, playing with rhythm instruments and a chance to play Anna's instrument of the week. Research shows music participation is a brain booster for the young child. Class meets once a week for 45 minutes. A parent or caregiver must attend the class with the child. Fee is $80.00 for 8 consecutive weeks begin anytime. Class is held at World Folk Music Company, 1808 W. 103rd St, Chicago, IL 773-779-7059.

Wednesday, Feb 21 10-10:30am and 11-11:30am, Pottery Barn Kids, Jordan Creek Town Center, West Des Moines, IA. I'll be returning to bring "Miss Anna's Music Class" to parents and tots right inside the PBK store. I have enjoyed playing and singing at the PBKids stores, and when you come in to the store, you get lots of great decorating ideas. 515-222-9754 free Thursday-Sunday, Feb 22-25, Folk Alliance Conference, Memphis, TN. Bob and I will be volunteering again this year. I learn so much each time I attend. I'm giving showcasing a thought. Though that would require memorizing my songs... Somehow I find it easier to memorize other people's songs. March 2007 Monday, March 5, Sing Around the Library. Blue Island, IL. see February 5 entry. Tuesday, March 20, 10am. Russian Rendevous, World Folk Music Company, 1808 W. 103rd St., Chicago. Privet! Bob & I traveled to Russia in September 2006. I collected many songs and stories and learned a bit more about the culture of European Russia. We traveled by plane, train and automobile. We hiked mountains in the south and visited museums and palaces in the north. We stayed in hostels and with Russian friends during our stay. This will be the premier performance of my new Russian program. $5 reservations recommended.

I'll be back at the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic again this year, singing and playing for the Vets, volunteers and hotel guests. Though Bob began volunteering at this event before I did, we have made it a family tradition to participate each year. "Miracles on a Mountainside!" is an apt slogan for this event. If you are to witness this event, you also will be inspired by what these veterans can do.
